Job Description
Locums First is looking for Advanced Nurse Practitioners to support primary care services in East Kilbride.
This opportunity offers flexible locum sessions with availability up to 3 days a week, tailored around your clinical strengths and schedule.
You will deliver autonomous, patient-facing care across a varied primary care caseload.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic presentations
• Prescribe safely and appropriately within scope and competence
• Provide same-day care and triage with robust safety netting
• Order and interpret investigations and initiate evidence-based treatment plans
• Document consultations accurately and contribute to ongoing clinical coding quality
• Escalate complex cases appropriately and work collaboratively with the wider MDT
• Support clinical governance through incident reporting and adherence to local pathways
• Participate in service improvement initiatives when required
Requirements
• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and relevant advanced practice qualification
• Independent Prescriber qualification with recent prescribing experience
• Recent UK primary care experience with confident autonomous practice
• Strong clinical decision-making, risk management, and communication skills
• Competence with common primary care systems and accurate clinical record keeping
• Up-to-date compliance documentation including DBS and mandatory training
Working Pattern
• Flexible sessions available up to 3 days per week
• Mix of morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions depending on service needs
• Short-notice and planned bookings available
