Job Description
Locums First is looking for Nurse Practitioners in Skelmorlie.
This role is well suited to NPs who want structured clinics, supportive practice teams and clarity on scope. Sessions are organised to help you work efficiently, with access to escalation and well-defined local pathways for referrals and follow-up.
Up to 3 days a week available with flexibility to suit your availability.
Role Snapshot
• Minor illness and same-day NP clinics with agreed appointment lengths.
• Potential for regular weekly sessions and repeat bookings.
Working Pattern
• Up to 3 days per week with flexible scheduling.
• AM PM or full-day sessions depending on service requirements.
• Choice of planned rota sessions or short-term cover.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess diagnose and manage minor illness presentations within competence.
• Provide clinical advice and safety-netting with appropriate follow-up.
• Prescribe and request investigations where qualified and permitted.
• Refer to community services and secondary care using local pathways.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective patient flow.
Requirements
• NMC registration with Nurse Practitioner level training and recent practice.
• Independent Prescriber qualification where required for the service.
• Recent UK primary care experience in minor illness and same-day care.
• Sound understanding of clinical governance infection control and safeguarding.
• Ability to use common GP clinical systems and document clearly.
