Job Description
Locums First is looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Elgin.
These sessions suit ACPs who want a balanced, well-governed caseload, supported by structured triage, clear escalation and experienced operational teams. You will have the tools to practise at an advanced level, with appropriate appointment planning, access to MDT support and a focus on safe, efficient patient care.
Flexible sessions available with regular work up to 2 days a week.
Role Snapshot
• Temporary ACP sessions delivering advanced assessment and management of acute presentations in primary care.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct advanced clinical assessments and manage undifferentiated presentations
• Formulate differential diagnoses and implement evidence-based management plans
• Prescribe and manage medicines safely where qualified and competent
• Request and interpret investigations and ensure timely follow-up
• Escalate complex or deteriorating patients to appropriate services promptly
• Maintain accurate clinical records, coding and clinical safety netting
• Collaborate with GPs, nursing teams and allied health professionals to optimise pathways
Requirements
• Relevant professional registration and evidence of ACP-level practice
• Advanced clinical practice qualification or equivalent experiential competence
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or emergency care environments
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance and risk management
• Confidence using UK clinical systems and remote consultation tools as required
• Enhanced DBS and compliance documents available
Working Pattern
• Temporary, locum, part-time and contract options available
• Up to 2 days a week with flexibility on when sessions are booked
• Mix of regular sessions and ad hoc cover depending on service demand
• Session lengths and start times can be agreed in advance
