Job Description
Locums First is looking for Advanced Nurse Practitioners to work for a modern and friendly GP practice in Harlow.
This is a well-structured primary care setting with clear clinical pathways, supportive GP leadership and a steady appointment flow, allowing you to focus on high-quality patient care while being properly backed by the wider team.
Up to 3 days a week available with flexible session options.
Role Snapshot
• An ANP opportunity focused on same-day and urgent presentations with strong clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for acute and minor illness presentations
• Prescribe appropriately within scope and adhere to local prescribing guidance
• Request and interpret relevant investigations and act on results in a timely manner
• Manage long-term conditions reviews where appropriate and escalate complex cases
• Provide safety netting advice and accurate clinical documentation on the system
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing and administrative teams to maintain safe patient flow
• Participate in clinical governance activity including significant events and audits as required
Requirements
• Registered Nurse with MSc level ANP qualification or equivalent advanced practice training
• Independent Prescriber qualification and evidence of current practice
• Recent UK primary care experience in an ANP capacity
• Confident managing minor illness and urgent presentations independently
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and infection prevention standards
• Up-to-date mandatory training and right to work in the UK
Working Pattern
• Locum engagement with sessions available up to 3 days per week
• Flexible start dates and a choice of consistent weekly bookings or ad hoc cover
• Daytime primary care hours with an agreed appointment structure and admin time built in
