Job Description
Locums First is looking for General Practitioners to join a well-organised GP practice in Waterlooville.
The practice runs with robust clinical triage, experienced nursing support and efficient workflow management, creating a stable environment where you can deliver excellent patient care without unnecessary friction.
Up to 2 days a week available with flexible sessions to suit your diary.
Role Snapshot
• A GP role with a steady workload, clear processes and supportive clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality GP consultations including diagnosis, management and onward referral
• Manage acute presentations and contribute to ongoing care for long-term conditions
• Review and act on test results, correspondence and clinical tasks in a timely manner
• Prescribe safely in line with formulary guidance and best practice
• Provide appropriate safeguarding input and maintain accurate clinical records
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support continuity and access
• Contribute to clinical governance and maintain standards aligned to CQC expectations
Requirements
• GMC registration with a licence to practise and completion of GP training
• Recent UK general practice experience with confidence in managing varied presentations
• Strong understanding of QOF, safeguarding and primary care pathways
• Competence using a UK GP clinical system and maintaining high-quality documentation
• Professional, reliable approach and ability to integrate quickly into practice teams
• Right to work in the UK and compliance documents available for onboarding
Working Pattern
• Locum sessions available up to 2 days per week
• Flexible options for regular weekly sessions or ad hoc cover
• Daytime primary care hours with an agreed clinic structure and admin allocation
