Job Description
Locums First is looking for General Practitioner in Kippen.
This is an excellent option for GPs who want reliable sessions within structured practices, with established admin processes, experienced reception and clinical teams, and clear protocols that reduce unnecessary workload. You will be supported by effective triage and workflow management, allowing you to focus on clinical care and continuity where possible.
Flexible sessions available with regular work up to 4 days a week.
Role Snapshot
• Locum GP sessions covering routine and on-the-day appointments with manageable workflows and clear support.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality GP consultations including assessment, diagnosis and management
• Manage acute presentations, long-term conditions and preventative care where required
• Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in line with local formularies and guidance
• Review and action results, correspondence and clinical tasks as agreed for the session
• Refer to community and secondary care services and complete associated documentation
• Maintain accurate clinical records and appropriate coding
• Contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance and quality standards within the service
Requirements
• GMC registration with licence to practise
• Completion of GP training and inclusion on the GP Register
• Strong knowledge of UK primary care pathways and clinical governance frameworks
• Confidence using UK clinical systems and maintaining high-quality documentation
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient-centred approach
• Valid DBS, right to work and mandatory training compliance readiness
Working Pattern
• Locum, part-time, temporary or contract options available
• Up to 4 days a week with flexibility to pick consistent days or ad hoc cover
• Session types available including AM, PM or full-day blocks
• Opportunities for ongoing placements as well as short-term requirements
