Job Description
Locums First is looking for Practice Nurses to deliver primary care services in Slamannan.
We can offer flexible work up to 2 days a week, with sessions arranged around your existing commitments and preferred clinic types.
You will run structured nurse clinics and support preventative care and long-term condition monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver immunisations and vaccinations in line with current guidance
• Undertake cervical cytology and routine health checks where competent
• Provide wound care, dressings, and minor procedures within scope
• Support long-term condition reviews and monitoring as required
• Carry out screening and health promotion interventions
• Maintain accurate records and ensure appropriate clinical coding
• Follow infection control procedures and cold chain standards
• Escalate clinical concerns and safeguarding issues appropriately
Requirements
• NMC registration with recent UK primary care nursing experience
• Competence in core practice nurse duties relevant to session requirements
• Confident communication and a patient-focused approach
• Ability to document clearly and use primary care systems appropriately
• Current compliance including DBS and mandatory training
• Reliable, flexible, and professional attitude to locum work
Working Pattern
• Flexible sessions up to 2 days per week
• Regular weekly clinics available with ad hoc cover options
• Session content agreed based on your competencies
